SCI-FI AT THE MOVIES - FROM ANOTHER WORLD
New at Torquay Museum for 2012, Sci-Fi at the Movies – From Another World, from 1st July to 4th September.
This is a rare chance to get within touching distance of stunning costumes and props from some of the most iconic sci-fi movies ever made, including Star Wars, Alien, Matrix, Terminator, Star Trek, Dr Who, I Robot, Fifth Element, V, Battlestar Galactica, Red Planet and Planet of the Apes.
An interactive family-friendly exhibition, Sci-Fi at the Movies is an experience where the characters really do come to life and children will be able to try on sci-fi costumes. Prepare to meet the Dark Side as you come face-to-face with a Stormtrooper or Darth Maul, who will be stalking the Museum’s corridors.
Meet Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers, R2D2 and Darth Maul, and beautiful Star Wars armour and props loaned to Torquay Museum by the creator of the original Stormtrooper costumes, Andrew Ainsworth, who is kindly sponsoring Sci-Fi at the Movies. His stunning replica Star Wars armour is available via his website www.originalstormtrooper.com
Also showcased are an exact replica of an early Tardis and two of Dr Who’s arch enemies – a Dalek and a Cyberman.
